Services

Dr Kerryn Wilson provides a full personal service; preparing you before the procedure, staying alongside throughout the process and being there for you in recovery. She will hold your hand from the beginning right through to recovery.

1. Preoperative consultation

You will receive a phone call from Dr Wilson before your dental appointment, to discuss your medical health. You will be guided as to which medications to take, and for how long to fast. Normally this will be 6 hours, but you may drink clear fluids up until 2 hours before the procedure.

2. At the dentist

Dr Kerryn Wilson will meet you at the dental surgery before your appointment, to make sure you are comfortable and to go over any questions that you may have.

Once you have settled into the dental chair, she will put in a cannula. You will then be attached to all the essential monitors. Once the dentist is ready to go, the sedation medicine will allow you to drift off into a peaceful sleep.

3. Recovery

Once the procedure is over, Dr Wilson will wake you up slowly in the dental chair and then you may move to a recovery area where you can have something to drink and eat.

After about an hour or so you should be fine to go home. You will need someone to take you home and stay with you for the night. You are not permitted to drive for 24 hours after the completion of the sedation.

You will be provided with the appropriate pain killers and antibiotics if required. You will be able to call me at any time afterwards, should there be any concerns.
